MBS013304 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Actinin Alpha 3 (ACTN3) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ACTN3. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS013304 kit is based on ACTN3 antibody-ACTN3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ACTN3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ACTN3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for ACTN3
This gene encodes a member of the alpha-actin binding protein gene family. The encoded protein is primarily expressed in skeletal muscle and functions as a structural component of sarcomeric Z line. This protein is involved in crosslinking actin containing thin filaments. An allelic polymorphism in this gene results in both coding and non-coding variants. The reference genome contains the non-coding allele. The non-functional allele of this gene is associated with elite athlete status. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]
