MBS005787 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the A Disintegrin and Metalloprotease 19 (ADAM19) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ADAM19. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS005787 kit is based on ADAM19 antibody-ADAM19 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ADAM19 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ADAM19. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for ADAM19
This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. This member is a type I transmembrane protein and serves as a marker for dendritic cell differentiation. It has been demonstrated to be an active metalloproteinase, which may be involved in normal physiological processes such as cell migration, cell adhesion, cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, and signal transduction. It is proposed to play a role in pathological processes, such as cancer, inflammatory diseases, renal diseases, and Alzheimer's disease. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]
UniProt Comments for ADAM19
ADAM19: Participates in the proteolytic processing of beta-type neuregulin isoforms which are involved in neurogenesis and synaptogenesis, suggesting a regulatory role in glial cell. Also cleaves alpha-2 macroglobulin. May be involved in osteoblast differentiation and/or osteoblast activity in bone. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Membrane protein, integral; Protease; EC 3.4.24.-

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q33.3

Cellular Component: integral to membrane

Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; metalloendopeptidase activity; SH3 domain binding

Biological Process: heart development; membrane protein ectodomain proteolysis
