The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ADAM9. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS019333 kit is based on ADAM9 antibody-ADAM9 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ADAM9 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ADAM9. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. The protein encoded by this gene interacts with SH3 domain-containing proteins, binds mitotic arrest deficient 2 beta protein, and is also involved in TPA-induced ectodomain shedding of membrane-anchored heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor.
