MBS9300572 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Apolipoprotein C3, Apo C3, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing Apo C3. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9300572 kit is based on Apo C3 antibody-Apo C3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect Apo C3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, Apo C3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Background/Introduction: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! This kit is intended to be used for determination the level of APOC3 (hereafter termed "analyte") in undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances.

NCBI Summary for Apo C3
Apolipoprotein C-III is a very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) protein. APOC3 inhibits lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase; it is thought to delay catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles. The APOA1, APOC3 and APOA4 genes are closely linked in both rat and human genomes. The A-I and A-IV genes are transcribed from the same strand, while the A-1 and C-III genes are convergently transcribed. An increase in apoC-III levels induces the development of hypertriglyceridemia. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
UniProt Comments for Apo C3
APOC3: Inhibits lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase and decreases the uptake of lymph chylomicrons by hepatic cells. This suggests that it delays the catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles. Defects in APOC3 are the cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia type 2 (HALP2). HALP2 is a condition characterized by high levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL) and increased HDL cholesterol levels. Belongs to the apolipoprotein C3 family.
