Small volumes of anti-ARC antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-ARC antibody
Apoptosis is regulated by death domain (DD)- and/or caspase recruitment domain (CARD)-containing molecules and a caspase family of proteases. CARDcontaining cell death regulators include RAIDD, RICK, BCL10, Apaf-1, caspase-9, and caspase-2. A novel CARD domaincontaining protein was recently identified and designated ARC (apoptosis repressor with CARD). ARC interacts with caspase-2 and -8 and inhibits enzymatic activity of caspase-8. ARC suppresses apoptosis induced by cell death adapters FADD and TRADD and by cell death receptors Fas, TNFR-1, and DR3. The mRNA of ARC is primarily expressed in skeletal muscle and cardiac tissue.

UniProt Comments for ARC
ARG3.1: Required for consolidation of synaptic plasticity as well as formation of long-term memory. Regulates endocytosis of AMPA receptors in response to synaptic activity. Required for homeostatic synaptic scaling of AMPA receptors. Plays a role in the regulation of cell morphology and cytoskeletal organization. Required in the stress fiber dynamics and cell migration. Belongs to the ARC/ARG3.1 family.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q24.3

Cellular Component: postsynaptic membrane; postsynaptic density; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; acrosome; dendritic spine; cell junction; endosome; actin cytoskeleton
