The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ATF2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS030329 kit is based on ATF2 antibody-ATF2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ATF2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ATF2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. This gene encodes a transcription factor that is a member of the leucine zipper family of DNA binding proteins. This protein binds to the cAMP-responsive element (CRE), an octameric palindrome. It forms a homodimer or a heterodimer with c-Jun and stimulates CRE-dependent transcription. This protein is also a histone acetyltransferase (HAT) that specifically acetylates histones H2B and H4 in vitro; thus it may represent a class of sequence-specific factors that activate transcription by direct effects on chromatin components.
