Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.
Product Note
Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of BLVRB elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS2019416 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Biliverdin Reductase B (BLVRB) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing BLVRB. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2019416 kit is based on BLVRB antibody-BLVRB antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect BLVRB antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, BLVRB. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

BLVRB elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Biliverdin Reductase B (BLVRB). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Biliverdin Reductase B (BLVRB). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Biliverdin Reductase B (BLVRB), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Biliverdin Reductase B (BLVRB) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Summary for BLVRB
The final step in heme metabolism in mammals is catalyzed by the cytosolic biliverdin reductase enzymes A and B (EC 1.3.1.24).[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2009]
UniProt Comments for BLVRB
BLVRB: Broad specificity oxidoreductase that catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of a variety of flavins, such as riboflavin, FAD or FMN, biliverdins, methemoglobin and PQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinone). Contributes to heme catabolism and metabolizes linear tetrapyrroles. Can also reduce the complexed Fe(3+) iron to Fe(2+) in the presence of FMN and NADPH. In the liver, converts biliverdin to bilirubin.

Protein type: EC 1.5.1.30; Oxidoreductase; EC 1.3.1.24; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - porphyrin and chlorophyll

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.1-q13.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cytosol

Molecular Function: flavin reductase activity; biliverdin reductase activity

Biological Process: heme catabolic process; porphyrin metabolic process
