Species Reactivity
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human anti-Batericidal pemeability increasing protein (BPI) antibody (IgG). No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human anti-Batericidal pemeability increasing protein (BPI) antibody (IgG) and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, plasma
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Preparation and Storage
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
ISO Certification
Manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Laboratory.
Product Note
Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of BPI elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS704752 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the anti-Bactericidal permeability increasing protein antibody, BPI-Ab, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing BPI. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS704752 kit is based on BPI antibody-BPI antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect BPI antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, BPI. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the qualitative enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with antigen. Samples are pipetted into the wells with anti-human IgG conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP). Any antibodies specific for the antigen present will bind to the pre-coated antigen. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of human anti-Bactericidal permeability increasing protein (BPI) antibody (IgG) bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for BPI
This gene encodes a lipopolysaccharide binding protein. It is associated with human neutrophil granules and has bactericidal activity on gram-negative organisms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
UniProt Comments for BPI
Function: The cytotoxic action of BPI is limited to many species of Gram-negative bacteria; this specificity may be explained by a strong affinity of the very basic N-terminal half for the negatively charged lipopolysaccharides that are unique to the Gram-negative bacterial outer envelope. Has antibacterial activity against the Gram-nagative bacterium P.aeruginosa, this activity is inhibited by LPS from P.aeruginosa.2 PublicationsManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.1
