MBS9335470 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the calcium channel, voltage-dependent, gamma subunit 4 (CACNG4) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CACNG4. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9335470 kit is based on CACNG4 antibody-CACNG4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CACNG4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CACNG4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CACNG4
The protein encoded by this gene is a type I transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory protein (TARP). TARPs regulate both trafficking and channel gating of the AMPA receptors. This gene is part of a functionally diverse eight-member protein subfamily of the PMP-22/EMP/MP20 family and is located in a cluster with two family members, a type II TARP and a calcium channel gamma subunit. UniProt Comments for CACNG4
CACNG4: Regulates the trafficking and gating properties of AMPA- selective glutamate receptors (AMPARs). Promotes their targeting to the cell membrane and synapses and modulates their gating properties by slowing their rates of activation, deactivation and desensitization and by mediating their resensitization. Does not show subunit-specific AMPA receptor regulation and regulates all AMPAR subunits. Thought to stabilize the calcium channel in an inactivated (closed) state. Belongs to the PMP-22/EMP/MP20 family. CACNG subfamily.

Protein type: Channel, calcium; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q24

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; voltage-gated calcium channel complex

Molecular Function: voltage-gated calcium channel activity

Biological Process: membrane depolarization; synaptic transmission; transport; transmission of nerve impulse
