Sample Preparation
We suggest pre-experimenting with neat (undiluted) samples, 1:2 or 1:4 dilutions. Please avoid diluting your samples more than 1:10 as it would exceed the dilution limit set for this kit. If the expected concentration of the target is beyond the detection range of the kit, please contact our technical support team
Product Note
Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of CART elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS7233075 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the cocaine- and amphetamine-regulated transcript (non-HGNC gene) (CART) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CART. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS7233075 kit is based on CART antibody-CART antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CART antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CART. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CART
This gene encodes a secreted protein which is processed by prohormone/proprotein convertases to produce smaller, biologically active peptides. Expression of the transcript for this gene is regulated by certain drugs such as cocaine, and the encoded protein is thought to be involved in the regulation of appetite and stress. Mutations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to obesity.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
UniProt Comments for CART
CARTPT: Satiety factor closely associated with the actions of leptin and neuropeptide y; this anorectic peptide inhibits both normal and starvation-induced feeding and completely blocks the feeding response induced by neuropeptide Y and regulated by leptin in the hypothalamus. It promotes neuronal development and survival in vitro. Belongs to the CART family.

Protein type: Secreted; Hormone; Secreted, signal peptide; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q13.2

Cellular Component: extracellular space; secretory granule

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of osteoclast differentiation; activation of MAPKK activity; adult feeding behavior; cellular response to starvation; signal transduction; negative regulation of appetite; synaptic transmission; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; cell-cell signaling; neuropeptide signaling pathway; positive regulation of epinephrine secretion; cell glucose homeostasis; circadian regulation of gene expression; negative regulation of bone resorption; regulation of insulin secretion; positive regulation of blood pressure; positive regulation of transmission of nerve impulse
