Other Notes
Small volumes of CHI3L1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS2514659 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the CHI3L1, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CHI3L1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2514659 kit is based on CHI3L1 antibody-CHI3L1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CHI3L1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CHI3L1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

CHI3L1 elisa kit
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of CHI3L1 in Mouse serum, plasma and other biological fluids
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Mouse CHI3L1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Mouse CHI3L1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Mouse CHI3L1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Mouse CHI3L1. You can calculate the concentration of Mouse CHI3L1 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Summary for CHI3L1
Chitinases catalyze the hydrolysis of chitin, which is an abundant glycopolymer found in insect exoskeletons and fungal cell walls. The glycoside hydrolase 18 family of chitinases includes eight human family members. This gene encodes a glycoprotein member of the glycosyl hydrolase 18 family. The protein lacks chitinase activity and is secreted by activated macrophages, chondrocytes, neutrophils and synovial cells. The protein is thought to play a role in the process of inflammation and tissue remodeling. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
UniProt Comments for CHI3L1
CHI3L1: Carbohydrate-binding lectin with a preference for chitin. May play a role in defense against pathogens, or in tissue remodeling. May play an important role in the capacity of cells to respond to and cope with changes in their environment. A genetic variation in CHI3L1 is associated with susceptibility to asthma-related traits type 7 (ASRT7). Asthma-related traits include clinical symptoms of asthma, such as coughing, wheezing and dyspnea, bronchial hyperresponsiveness (BHR) as assessed by methacholine challenge test, serum IgE levels, atopy, and atopic dermatitis. Belongs to the glycosyl hydrolase 18 family.
