Quality Control
Certificate of Origin
The raw animal product used in the manufacturing of Carboxypeptidase B is derived from materials originating in North America and collected in USDA approved facilities and inspected to be free of disease.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at - 20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery or product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Other Notes
Small volumes of CPB1 enzyme vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CPB1
Three different procarboxypeptidases A and two different procarboxypeptidases B have been isolated. The B1 and B2 forms differ from each other mainly in isoelectric point. Carboxypeptidase B1 is a highly tissue-specific protein and is a useful serum marker for acute pancreatitis and dysfunction of pancreatic transplants. It is not elevated in pancreatic carcinoma.
