Intended Uses
ELISA is a simple and highly sensitive method of analysis that allows for simultaneous and rapid quantification of a large number of samples. The assay is based on the specific recognition of the target compound (analyte/antigen) by antibodies which bind to the compound. The antigen-antibody complex is detected and measured with the aid of an enzyme-labeled antibody or antigen. Upon addition of a non-colored reagent, the enzyme produces a color reaction where the color intensity is directly or inversely proportional to the concentration of the analyte in the sample. This quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is in tended to determinate CRYAB concentrations in Rat serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, feces, urine and body fluids, and it is only for research, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) are less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean x100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C
Product Note
Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of CRYAB elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS015372 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Alpha B-Crystallin (CRYAB) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CRYAB. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS015372 kit is based on CRYAB antibody-CRYAB antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CRYAB antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CRYAB. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%). Crystalline proteins are a major component of transparent lenses, corneas and are also expressed in multiple tissue types where they may promote neurite extension. The gene family for crystallin family is large and divergent with Beta-gamma oligomers forming a separate branch from the heat shock protein related A and B alphab crystallin. Alpha crystallin B ( CryAb) maintains lens health and transparency, so changes in expression or cell localization are critical to pathophysiology. A cell based ELISA is available to quantitatively assay rat specific CryAb alpha in a sandwich style kit, complete with 1 plate for 96 tests, anti alpha crystallin antibody and secondary antibodies products. ELISA kits show limited cross reaction with mouse, rabbit or human alpha CryAb or crystallin gamma as detailed in the provided product datasheet. Crystallin ELISA kits are highly sensitive and may be used to confirm IHC results in a research setting.

CRYAB: a major structural protein of the eye lens. A member of the small heat shock protein (sHSP also known as the HSP20) family. Alpha-B is expressed in the lens as well as other tissues. Elevated expression of alpha-B crystallin occurs in many neurological diseases; a missense mutation cosegregated in a family with a desmin-related myopathy.

Protein type: Chaperone; Heat shock protein

Cellular Component: mitochondrion; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cytosol; Z disc; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity; metal ion binding; unfolded protein binding; structural constituent of eye lens

Biological Process: tubulin folding; lens development in camera-type eye; muscle development; negative regulation of intracellular transport; response to hydrogen peroxide; response to hypoxia; negative regulation of caspase activity; protein homooligomerization
