Sample Preparation
We suggest pre-experimenting with neat (undiluted) samples, 1:2 or 1:4 dilutions. Please avoid diluting your samples more than 1:10 as it would exceed the dilution limit set for this kit. If the expected concentration of the target is beyond the detection range of the kit, please contact our technical support team
Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of Cy.C elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS725302 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Cytochrome C (Cy.C) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing Cy.C. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS725302 kit is based on Cy.C antibody-Cy.C antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect Cy.C antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, Cy.C. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for Cy.C
This gene encodes a small heme protein that functions as a central component of the electron transport chain in mitochondria. The encoded protein associates with the inner membrane of the mitochondrion where it accepts electrons from cytochrome b and transfers them to the cytochrome oxidase complex. This protein is also involved in initiation of apoptosis. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal dominant nonsyndromic thrombocytopenia. Numerous processed pseudogenes of this gene are found throughout the human genome.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
UniProt Comments for Cy.C
CYCS: Electron carrier protein. The oxidized form of the cytochrome c heme group can accept an electron from the heme group of the cytochrome c1 subunit of cytochrome reductase. Cytochrome c then transfers this electron to the cytochrome oxidase complex, the final protein carrier in the mitochondrial electron-transport chain. Belongs to the cytochrome c family.

Protein type: Oxidoreductase; Protein phosphatase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Apoptosis; Mitochondrial

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p15.3

Cellular Component: protein phosphatase type 2A complex; mitochondrion; mitochondrial inner membrane; mitochondrial intermembrane space; nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: electron transporter, transferring electrons from CoQH2-cytochrome c reductase complex and cytochrome c oxidase complex activity; protein binding; iron ion binding; heme binding; protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity

Biological Process: mitochondrion organization and biogenesis; cellular metabolic process; response to reactive oxygen species; dephosphorylation; apoptosis; organelle organization and biogenesis; cellular respiration; mitochondrial electron transport, cytochrome c to oxygen; DNA fragmentation during apoptosis; caspase activation via cytochrome c; transmembrane transport; mitochondrial electron transport, ubiquinol to cytochrome c

Disease: Thrombocytopenia 4
