The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing DON. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS704255 kit is based on DON antibody-DON antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect DON antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, DON. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with Vomitoxin Vomitoxin Vomitoxin Vomitoxin Vomitoxin Vomitoxin Vomitoxin Vomitoxin antigen. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Vomitoxin antibody and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated anti-antibody. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between pre-coated Vomitoxin and Vomitoxin in standards or samples with the Vomitoxin antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of Vomitoxin in the standards or samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Deoxynivalenol(DON), also known as vomitoxin, belongs to trichothecene and is produced by mould fusarium, growing in grains such as wheat, maize, barley and stover. Because of causing vomitting in pigs, hence the name is Vomitoxin. It has some harmful effects to human body and has been listed as Category III carcinogen by EU classification criteria. In 2011, the limit of vomitoxin residues is 1000 ppb in grains and grains products in China. This kit is a detection product developed based on ELISA technology, with operation time as short as 50 min and a sensitivity of 20 ppb, and linear range from 20 ppb?1620 ppb.
