Species Reactivity
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human EBI3. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human EBI3 and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
15.6 pg/ml -1000 pg/ml.
Sensitivity
The minimum detectable dose of human EBI3 is typically less than 3.9 pg/ml.The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Preparation and Storage
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
ISO Certification
Manufactured in an ISO 13485:2003 and EN ISO 13485:2012 Certified Laboratory.
Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of EBI3 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS924266 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Epstein-Barr virus induced 3 (EBI3) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing EBI3. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS924266 kit is based on EBI3 antibody-EBI3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect EBI3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, EBI3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

EBI3 elisa kit
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for EBI3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any EBI3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for EBI3 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of EBI3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for EBI3
This gene was identified by its induced expression in B lymphocytes in response Epstein-Barr virus infection. It encodes a secreted glycoprotein belonging to the hematopoietin receptor family, and heterodimerizes with a 28 kDa protein to form interleukin 27 (IL-27). IL-27 regulates T cell and inflammatory responses, in part by activating the Jak/STAT pathway of CD4+ T cells. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]
UniProt Comments for EBI3
IL27-beta: Cytokine with pro- and anti-inflammatory properties, that can regulate T-helper cell development, suppress T-cell proliferation, stimulate cytotoxic T-cell activity, induce isotype switching in B-cells, and that has diverse effects on innate immune cells. Among its target cells are CD4 T-helper cells which can differentiate in type 1 effector cells (TH1), type 2 effector cells (TH2) and IL17 producing helper T-cells (TH17). It drives rapid clonal expansion of naive but not memory CD4 T-cells. It also strongly synergizes with IL-12 to trigger interferon- gamma/IFN-gamma production of naive CD4 T-cells, binds to the cytokine receptor WSX-1/TCCR. Another important role of IL27 is its antitumor activity as well as its antiangiogenic activity with activation of production of antiangiogenic chemokines. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 3 subfamily.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3

Cellular Component: extracellular space; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor activity; protein binding; interleukin-27 receptor binding; cytokine activity

Biological Process: T-helper 1 type immune response; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; positive regulation of alpha-beta T cell proliferation; humoral immune response; positive regulation of interferon-gamma biosynthetic process
