Other Notes
Small volumes of ENO1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS706020 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the enolase 1, (alpha) (ENO1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ENO1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS706020 kit is based on ENO1 antibody-ENO1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ENO1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ENO1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for ENO1/ENO1L1/MBPB1/MPB1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any ENO1/ENO1L1/MBPB1/MPB1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ENO1/ENO1L1/MBPB1/MPB1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ENO1/ENO1L1/MBPB1/MPB1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for ENO1
This gene encodes alpha-enolase, one of three enolase isoenzymes found in mammals. Each isoenzyme is a homodimer composed of 2 alpha, 2 gamma, or 2 beta subunits, and functions as a glycolytic enzyme. Alpha-enolase in addition, functions as a structural lens protein (tau-crystallin) in the monomeric form. Alternative splicing of this gene results in a shorter isoform that has been shown to bind to the c-myc promoter and function as a tumor suppressor. Several pseudogenes have been identified, including one on the long arm of chromosome 1. Alpha-enolase has also been identified as an autoantigen in Hashimoto encephalopathy. UniProt Comments for ENO1
Function: Multifunctional enzyme that, as well as its role in glycolysis, plays a part in various processes such as growth control, hypoxia tolerance and allergic responses. May also function in the intravascular and pericellular fibrinolytic system due to its ability to serve as a receptor and activator of plasminogen on the cell surface of several cell-types such as leukocytes and neurons. Stimulates immunoglobulin production.5 PublicationsManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.3

Catalytic activity: 2-phospho-D-glycerate = phosphoenolpyruvate + H2O.1 PublicationManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.18

Cofactor: Magnesium. Binds two Mg2+ per subunit. Required for catalysis and for stabilizing the dimer.1 PublicationManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.39
