Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of FMO5 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS9330891 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the flavin containing monooxygenase 5 (FMO5) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing FMO5. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9330891 kit is based on FMO5 antibody-FMO5 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FMO5 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FMO5. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for FMO5
Metabolic N-oxidation of the diet-derived amino-trimethylamine (TMA) is mediated by flavin-containing monooxygenase and is subject to an inherited FMO3 polymorphism in man resulting in a small subpopulation with reduced TMA N-oxidation capacity resulting in fish odor syndrome Trimethylaminuria. Three forms of the enzyme, FMO1 found in fetal liver, FMO2 found in adult liver, and FMO3 are encoded by genes clustered in the 1q23-q25 region. Flavin-containing monooxygenases are NADPH-dependent flavoenzymes that catalyzes the oxidation of soft nucleophilic heteroatom centers in drugs, pesticides, and xenobiotics. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]
UniProt Comments for FMO5
FMO5: In contrast with other forms of FMO it does not seem to be a drug-metabolizing enzyme. Belongs to the FMO family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 1.14.13.8; Oxidoreductase; Xenobiotic Metabolism - drug metabolism - cytochrome P450

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21.1

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: FAD binding; NADP binding; flavin-containing monooxygenase activity
