Related Product Information for
G-CSF recombinant protein
G-CSF is a growth factor and/or cytokine produced by the endothelium, macrophages and a number of other immune cells. G-CSF stimulates the bone marrow to produce granulocytes and also to stimulate the survival, proliferation, differentiation and function of neutrophil granulocyte progenator cells and mature neutrophils. Recombinant G-CSF comprises a 174 amino acid fragment (31-204) corresponding to the mature short form of the G-CSF protein and is expressed in E Coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. This product is not intended for therapeutic use.

NCBI Summary for G-CSF
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that controls the production, differentiation, and function of granulocytes. The active protein is found extracellularly. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
UniProt Comments for G-CSF
G-CSF: Granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factors are cytokines that act in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of 2 related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. This CSF induces granulocytes. Belongs to the IL-6 superfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
