MBS009435 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Growth Regulated Oncogene A (GROA) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing GROA. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS009435 kit is based on GROA antibody-GROA antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GROA antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GROA. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

This gene encodes a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. The encoded protein is a secreted growth factor that signal through the G-protein coupled receptor, CXC receptor 2. This protein plays a role in inflammation and as a chemoattractant for neutrophils. Aberrant expression this protein is associated with the growth and progression of certain tumors. A naturally occurring processed form of this protein has increased chemotactic activity. Alternate splicing results in coding and non-coding variants of this gene. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 4. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]
