3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P17936
Species Reactivity
Human, Mouse
IGFBP-3 (Phospho-Ser183) antibody detects endogenous levels of IGFBP-3 only when phosphorylated at serine 183.
Affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide was removed by chromatography using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.
In phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
The antiserum was produced against synthesized phosphopeptide derived from human IGFBP-3 around the phosphorylation site of serine 183 (K-D-SP-Q-R).
All Sites
Human: Ser183
Mouse: Ser183
Preparation and Storage
Store at-20 degree C for 1 year.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-IGFBP-3 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-IGFBP-3 antibody
Immunohistochemistry analysis of paraffin-embedded human brain tissue using IGFBP-3 (Phospho-Ser183) antibody. IGFBP-3 (Phospho-Ser183) antibody reacts with epitope-specific phosphopeptide and corresponding non-phosphopeptide. The absorbance readings at 450 nM are shown in the ELISA figure.

NCBI Summary for IGFBP-3
This gene is a member of the insulin-like growth factor binding protein (IGFBP) family and encodes a protein with an IGFBP domain and a thyroglobulin type-I domain. The protein forms a ternary complex with insulin-like growth factor acid-labile subunit (IGFALS) and either insulin-like growth factor (IGF) I or II. In this form, it circulates in the plasma, prolonging the half-life of IGFs and altering their interaction with cell surface receptors. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
UniProt Comments for IGFBP-3
IGF-binding proteins prolong the half-life of the IGFs and have been shown to either inhibit or stimulate the growth promoting effects of the IGFs on cell culture. They alter the interaction of IGFs with their cell surface receptors. Also exhibits IGF-independent antiproliferative and apoptotic effects mediated by its receptor TMEM219/IGFBP-3R.
