MBS284419 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Interleukin-15 (IL15RA) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing IL15RA. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS284419 kit is based on IL15RA antibody-IL15RA antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect IL15RA antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, IL15RA. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate IL15RA in samples. An antibody specific for IL15RA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyIL15RA present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IL15RA is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL15RA bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for IL15RA
This gene encodes a cytokine receptor that specifically binds interleukin 15 (IL15) with high affinity. The receptors of IL15 and IL2 share two subunits, IL2R beta and IL2R gamma. This forms the basis of many overlapping biological activities of IL15 and IL2. The protein encoded by this gene is structurally related to IL2R alpha, an additional IL2-specific alpha subunit necessary for high affinity IL2 binding. Unlike IL2RA, IL15RA is capable of binding IL15 with high affinity independent of other subunits, which suggests distinct roles between IL15 and IL2. This receptor is reported to enhance cell proliferation and expression of apoptosis inhibitor BCL2L1/BCL2-XL and BCL2. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been reported.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]
