Other Notes
Small volumes of IL18 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
IL18 recombinant protein
Interleukin 18 (IL-18), previously known as interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma)-inducing factor, is an activator of NK cells and a co-inducer of Th1 cytokines. IL-18 is produced from Kupffer cells, activated macrophages, keratinocytes, intestinal epithelial cells, osteoblasts, adrenal cortex cells and murine diencephalon. IL-18 was expressed in E Coli and purifed by conventional chromatography, after refolding of the isolated inclusion bodies in a renaturation buffer.

NCBI Summary for IL18
The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine that augments natural killer cell activity in spleen cells, and stimulates interferon gamma production in T-helper type I cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
UniProt Comments for IL18
Augments natural killer cell activity in spleen cells and stimulates interferon gamma production in T-helper type I cells.
