The mosquito is, however, capable of making any region in the world as its own home except Antarctica. The <span id=\"urn:enhancement-3c60f29a-bc0a-454b-8f47-4aed79a600c9\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/vector\">vector<\/span> not only carries <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/zika-virus\/\">Zika virus<\/a> but is also identified as a member of the family responsible for spreading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/chikungunya\/\">Chikungunya<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/dengue\/\">Dengue<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/yellow-fever\/\">Yellow fever<\/a>.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-143\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/mosquito-transmissor-zika-virus-300x180.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/mosquito-transmissor-zika-virus-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/mosquito-transmissor-zika-virus-370x222.jpg 370w, https:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/mosquito-transmissor-zika-virus-570x342.jpg 570w, https:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/mosquito-transmissor-zika-virus.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Native of sub-Saharan Africa, the mosquitoes lived in tree holes and foods often included fruits and blood meals from non-human animals. Surprisingly, these mosquitoes were darker in color compared with the form that is currently found in human habitats. Until this day, the ancestral form exists in forests of sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The study indicates human habitation, changing the environment and drying up of rivers in Africa led to the formation of different <span id=\"urn:enhancement-9a5a2605-a540-49b4-94fe-8f3207a9e579\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/subspecies\">subspecies<\/span> overtime. The <span id=\"urn:enhancement-6675c59b-f18e-4cc1-8ce3-cc045cbd3720\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/migrated\">migration<\/span> of the mosquitoes first took place through Europeans and the first recorded <span id=\"urn:enhancement-501e21da-88b6-414e-b123-2be6f0d2074e\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/epidemics\">epidemic<\/span> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mybiosource.com\/learn\/yellow-fever\/\">yellow fever<\/a> was recorded on 1648. However, Haiti recorded the presence of the mosquito in its territories in 1495.<\/p>\n<p>Later, Spain and Portugal made frequent travel to west Africa in order to buy slaves. This period is the approximate timing in which Aedes and family spread to Europe, Americas, and Asia. The findings are evidenced through DNA sequencing and large-scale single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) Analysis.
