There are several factors which are accumulating for the increased number of infected individuals every year, such as \u2013 changes in the behaviour of individuals for sexual selection, lack of preventive measures as well as lack of proper education. In addition to all of these factors, proper information regarding regular check-ups and sensitive detection methods are also of prime importance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"2\">Diagnosis \/ Identification of the infection<\/p>\n<p>There could be several kinds of detection assay possible for <span id=\"urn:enhancement-0db79025-e3b6-4c19-a67a-99e9096bd19d\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/chlamydia\">chlamydia<\/span> identification which is broadly grouped into direct and indirect test methods. Although <span id=\"urn:enhancement-67ecae62-ffc5-41d5-aa77-c9cf810a0690\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/chlamydia\">Chlamydia<\/span> is affecting both male and female individuals, however, in some circumstances like feasibility, cost-effectiveness or efficiency screening methods for a male is limited.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"4\">Consideration for diagnosis<\/p>\n<p>Since 2003, the <span id=\"urn:enhancement-8bab4abe-52af-4a2a-8518-148aa3b9e64d\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-organization\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/world-health-organization\">World Health Organization<\/span> (WHO) has established guidelines to treat <span id=\"urn:enhancement-b1ea23a6-25eb-4da0-a9da-b37f73a1bbe9\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/sexually-transmitted-diseases\">STDs<\/span> including <span id=\"urn:enhancement-7894bef9-46cb-44e2-8693-ac85c35b45e8\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/chlamydia\">Chlamydia<\/span>.\u00a0 These guidelines are important to give patients updated treatments for the <span id=\"urn:enhancement-fb389fa8-c7e9-47c7-88d6-d7cf965011ad\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/pathogen\">pathogen<\/span> infection which are generally coming from current pieces of evidence. WHO recommendation is required to establish a standard treatment regime which will be based on pieces of evidence. Additionally, WHO recommendation is also useful to provide country-specific support for building up national guidelines to prevent <span id=\"urn:enhancement-51fdd76b-741a-41a3-8375-0aca6f56dc8b\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/chlamydia\">Chlamydia<\/span> spreading. According to the current situation, there are nine treatment options has been provided for a different group of people like teenagers, adults, <span id=\"urn:enhancement-ad108b8b-f975-443c-896f-406fba711032\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/hiv\">HIV<\/span> positive individuals or sex workers. A specific treatment option has also been designed for pregnant women who are getting infected as well as treatment for <span id=\"urn:enhancement-22c21f7b-422b-4f92-92a6-76b9256d38ec\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/ophthalmia-neonatorum\">ophthalmia neonatorum<\/span>. Alternatively WHO recommends using either <span id=\"urn:enhancement-9b8fba6f-c6b4-40e0-a4ec-3017589880b4\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/tetracycline\">tetracycline<\/span>, 400mg, 4 times a day for 7 days or use of <span id=\"urn:enhancement-128a6269-9704-4604-8519-bb8cba2c243e\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/erythromycin\">erythromycin<\/span>, 500mg similarly to be taken 4 times for 7 days.\u00a0 To increase the chance of infection control, single dose option of <span id=\"urn:enhancement-008e61a4-0fa3-4d54-85c9-4b97d1d5a664\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/azithromycin\">azithromycin<\/span> should be available. In a situation where multidrug therapy is required, the first drug should be provided on the place and observation should be followed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"5\">Follow up<\/p>\n<p>In general, the high rate of newly diagnosed <span id=\"urn:enhancement-c7ab3929-ba02-4f47-aa7b-c990740cab63\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/chlamydia\">Chlamydia<\/span> infection results from reinfection because of partners does not follow the treatment or interaction with the new person who is already infected. Thus a follow-up regime following the initial treatment is highly required and clinicians must follow a retest option for the initial 12-month time frame after receiving the first treatment.
