However, three doses are still advised for older teens.<\/p>\n<p>The new study was commissioned by Merck &amp; Co. which make two vaccines for <span id=\"urn:enhancement-4f00042b-7cc9-4b57-a926-e0902bb11149\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/hpv\">HPV<\/span>. About 79 million are carrying <span id=\"urn:enhancement-02fb2c69-e847-453e-8ae3-4df708267acd\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/hpv\">HPV<\/span> as per <span id=\"urn:enhancement-9d224864-8cc2-425e-80d7-1a0603c1e558\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-organization\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/centers-for-disease-control-and-prevention\">CDC<\/span> estimates. <span id=\"urn:enhancement-98b30b7a-0e9d-4719-8f35-9d3fa869b237\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/hpv\">HPV<\/span> is known to cause cancer of the penis, throat, and anus. <span id=\"urn:enhancement-9d4eed35-5815-4731-9f38-9e337f8cdb60\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-organization\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/centers-for-disease-control-and-prevention\">CDC<\/span> also noted that the vaccine is effective against pre-<span id=\"urn:enhancement-8e663aa6-021f-4faf-b689-836dcebba964\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/invasive\">cancers<\/span> and genital <span id=\"urn:enhancement-7999e0de-faea-45b1-880c-52bd250e5f20\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/warts\">warts<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, 28% and 42% of Boys and Girls respectively obtained three doses of vaccine. In most cases, <span id=\"urn:enhancement-82139ee6-a4d0-4ebd-b840-f7f7b2fcc913\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/hpv\">HPV<\/span> leaves on its own but the risk of cancer in organs that carry out reproductive functions increase due to <span id=\"urn:enhancement-44bd0407-664a-4ddd-b62d-4b84db4491fe\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/hpv\">HPV<\/span>. It is a common virus and all men and women get it at some point in their lives. The transmission of <span id=\"urn:enhancement-0c660003-8aa2-4c05-9cd0-83eedcee0c8a\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/hpv\">HPV<\/span> happens through intimate skin-to-skin contact. Also, <span id=\"urn:enhancement-d1a3b465-0a2b-48e4-87ca-64078a7be3c9\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/hpv\">HPV<\/span> is transmitted through vaginal, anal, or oral sex.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"urn:enhancement-9ef3e50c-034d-45f7-b88f-c9b8ba8ee93e\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/cervical-cancer\">cervical cancer<\/span> caused by <span id=\"urn:enhancement-0a2d0159-cc6c-46f7-a83f-9f62086929e7\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503301\/entity\/hpv\">HPV<\/span> is the second common form of cancer in women worldwide.
