Prior to reconstitution store at 4 degree C. Following reconstitution store at -20 degree C. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 3 months from date of reconstitution.

Small volumes of MCP-1/MCAF recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Recombinant human MCP-1/MCAF also known as C-C motif chemokine 2, Monocyte chemoattractant protein 1, Monocyte chemoattractant protein 1, HC11 or Small-inducible cytokine A2 is encoded by the CCL2 gene. Recombinant MCP-1 is a 76 amino acid ~13kDa chemokine involved in chemotaxis and polarization of the immune response. Recombinant human MCP-1/MCAF has been employed successfully as a control antigen in the development of a sensitive ELISA employing Mouse anti Human MCP-1 antibody clone 2.2-4A4-1A11 as a capture reagent and biotinylated Rabbit anti Human MCP-1 polyclonal antibody as a detection reagent.

This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines are a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine is a member of the CC subfamily which is characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils but not for neutrophils or eosinophils. It has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis. It binds to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4.
