Biological Significance
This HLy9.25 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD229, an approximately 120-kDa member of the Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule immunoglobulin superfamily. This type I transmembrane glycoprotein is expressed on a variety of immune cell types, including thymocytes, T and B lymphocytes, and natural killer cells. Expression of CD229 is also detected on T and B cell malignancies, including Jurkat and Burkitt lymphoma cells, respectively. CD229 has been shown to interact with SH2-binding phosphatases and the adaptor proteins SLAM-associated protein and EAT-2. Moreover, CD229 localizes to the immunological synapse following T cell activation.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C. Do not freeze. Protect from light.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-CD229 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Application Notes for anti-CD229 antibody
FC: <= 0.05 ug/test

A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.

Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) of anti-CD229 antibody
Staining of normal human peripheral blood cells with CD3 antibody PErCP-Cy5.5 and Mouse IgG1 kappa Isotype Control (left) or CD229 antibody (Ly-) (right). Cells in the lymphocyte gate were used for analysis.
