Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-CD44 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-CD44 antibody
Mouse anti Rat CD44 antibody, clone OX-50 recognizes the rat CD44 cell surface antigen, expressed by T cells, B cells, macrophages and thymocytes. CD44 is a glycoprotein of 85kD, with expression being increased following activation.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-CD44 antibody
Immunohistology Frozen*, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)
Application Notes for anti-CD44 antibody
Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul.
Immunohistology - Frozen: Application Note: The epitope recognised by this antibody is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. MyBioSource recommends the use of acetone fixation for frozen sections.
Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/50; Maximum Dilution: 1/100

NCBI Summary for CD44
adhesion molecule involved in migration, cell fusion and resportion in osteoclasts that also plays a role in cellular metastasis [RGD, Feb 2006]
UniProt Comments for CD44
CD44: Receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA). Mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions through its affinity for HA, and possibly also through its affinity for other ligands such as osteopontin, collagens, and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Adhesion with HA plays an important role in cell migration, tumor growth and progression. Also involved in lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing, and in hematopoiesis. Altered expression or dysfunction causes numerous pathogenic phenotypes. Great protein heterogeneity due to numerous alternative splicing and post-translational modification events. Interacts with PKN2. Interacts with HA, as well as other glycosaminoglycans, collagen, laminin, and fibronectin via its N-terminal segment. Interacts with ANK, the ERM proteins (VIL2, RDX and MSN), and NF2 via its C-terminal segment. Isoform 10 (epithelial isoform) is expressed by cells of epithelium and highly expressed by carcinomas. Expression is repressed in neuroblastoma cells. 19 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
