Preparation and Storage
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 4ºC for frequent use.
Aliquot and store at -20ºC for 12 months.

Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-FABP1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for FABP1
This gene encodes the fatty acid binding protein found in liver. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. This protein and FABP6 (the ileal fatty acid binding protein) are also able to bind bile acids. It is thought that FABPs roles include fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]
UniProt Comments for FABP1
FABP1: Binds free fatty acids and their coenzyme A derivatives, bilirubin, and some other small molecules in the cytoplasm. May be involved in intracellular lipid transport. Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family.

Protein type: Lipid-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p11.2

Cellular Component: apical cortex; cytosol; nucleoplasm; peroxisomal matrix; protein complex

Molecular Function: antioxidant activity; bile acid binding; chromatin binding; drug binding; fatty acid binding; long-chain fatty acid transporter activity; phospholipid binding; protein binding

Biological Process: intestinal absorption; long-chain fatty acid transport; negative regulation of apoptosis; negative regulation of cysteine-type endopeptidase activity involved in apoptotic process; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of fatty acid beta-oxidation; positive regulation of hydrolase activity; regulation of lipid metabolic process; triglyceride catabolic process
