Related Product Information for
anti-IL-1b antibody
Introduction: Interleukin-1b is produced by activated macrophages, IL-1B stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing il-2 release, b-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL1B proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-IL-1b antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Application Notes for anti-IL-1b antibody
Western Blot, immunohistochemistry intra-cellular staining and will also work in Direct ELISA and Immunoprecipitation.
For intra-cellular staining, 10 ul per 1,000,000 cells. By direct ELISA, 1:10,000 dilution will yield >1.0 O.D using alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti-mouse Ig.

NCBI Summary for IL-1b
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine is produced by activated macrophages as a proprotein, which is proteolytically processed to its active form by caspase 1. The encoded protein plays a role in thymocyte proliferation and is involved in the inflammatory response. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]
UniProt Comments for IL-1b
IL1B: Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Monomer. Belongs to the IL-1 family.
