This item is specific for human interleukin 4 receptor, the transmembrane ligand-binding subunit of the heterodimeric IL-4 receptor complex. IL-4 R is expressed by B cells, T cells, monocytes and macrophages.Clone 25463 is reported to block human cell surface IL-4 receptor mediated bioactivities induced by IL-4 or IL-13. An ND50 was observed at approximately 5-20 ng/ml in the presence of 0.2 ng/ml of IL-4 using the factor dependant human erythroleukemic cell line, TF-1.

Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

Small volumes of anti-IL4R antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. This gene encodes the alpha chain of the interleukin-4 receptor, a type I transmembrane protein that can bind interleukin 4 and interleukin 13 to regulate IgE production. The encoded protein also can bind interleukin 4 to promote differentiation of Th2 cells. A soluble form of the encoded protein can be produced by proteolysis of the membrane-bound protein, and this soluble form can inhibit IL4-mediated cell proliferation and IL5 upregulation by T-cells. Allelic variations in this gene have been associated with atopy, a condition that can manifest itself as allergic rhinitis, sinusitus, asthma, or eczema. Polymorphisms in this gene are also associated with resistance to human immunodeficiency virus type-1 infection. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
