Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-Methicilin-resistant Staph aureus (MRSA) antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) survives treatment with broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotics including penicillin, methicillin, and cephalosporins. Previously, most MRSA infections occurred in hospitals or other health care settings, such as nursing homes and dialysis centers and were known as "health care-associated MRSA" or HA-MRSA. Older adults and people with weakened immune systems were most at risk of contracting HA-MRSA. More recently, another type of MRSA has occurred among otherwise healthy people in the wider community. This form, "community-associated MRSA", or CA-MRSA, causes serious skin and soft tissue infections and a potentially lethal form of pneumonia.
ELISA, Immunoblot
ELISA: use at a 1:5,000 dilution in direct ELISA against purified MRSA protein or MRSA-positive
Staphylococcus aureus lysate.
Immunoblotting: use at a 1:2,000 dilution. A band of approx. 70 kDa is detected.
These are recommended dilutions. Enduser should determine optimal dilutions for their applications.
