This item specifically recognises a unique epitope shared by the intermediate filament keratins, cytokeratin 7 and cytokeratin 17, a 54kDa type II basic cytokeratin, and 46kDa type I acidic cytokeratin respectively. Cytokeratins are located in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissues and their neoplasms, including the lungs, ovary and breast. Each keratin filament consists of at least one type I and one type II keratin chain, which then assemble to form a cytoskeletal network, extending from the surface of the nucleus to the cell membrane. The expression of a particular type of cytokeratin depends mainly on the type of epithelium and the development stage of the cell, including its corresponding malignant state. Immunohistochemical analysis of cytokeratin profiles is therefore a valuable tool for diagnosis and characterization, and this particular antibody could be useful for the evaluation of some stratified epithelia which express cytokeratin 17, but not cytokeratin 7. Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

Small volumes of anti-KRT17 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 20; Maximum Dilution: 30ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections e.g. trypsin or pronase.
