Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-HPRT antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-HPRT antibody
HPRT is a transferase, which catalyzes conversion of hypoxanthine to inosine monophosphate and guanine to guanosine monophosphate via transfer of the 5-phosphoribosyl group from 5-phosphoribosyl 1-pyrophosphate. HPRT, which acts as a catalyst in the reaction between guanine and phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate to form GMP, functions primarily to salvage purines from degraded DNA to renewed purine synthesis.

Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-HPRT antibody
ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB)

Western Blot (WB) of anti-HPRT antibody
The extracts of 293T (35ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human HPRT (1:500~1:5000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system.

NCBI Summary for HPRT
The protein encoded by this gene is a transferase, which catalyzes conversion of hypoxanthine to inosine monophosphate and guanine to guanosine monophosphate via transfer of the 5-phosphoribosyl group from 5-phosphoribosyl 1-pyrophosphate. This enzyme plays a central role in the generation of purine nucleotides through the purine salvage pathway. Mutations in this gene result in Lesch-Nyhan syndrome or gout.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]
UniProt Comments for HPRT
Converts guanine to guanosine monophosphate, and hypoxanthine to inosine monophosphate. Transfers the 5-phosphoribosyl group from 5-phosphoribosylpyrophosphate onto the purine. Plays a central role in the generation of purine nucleotides through the purine salvage pathway.
