Recognizes human c-erB-4/Her 4 cytoplasmic domain of the protein (residues 1250-1264), a member of the EGF receptor (type 1) family involved in cell growth regulation. Expression or function may be altered in human cancers.
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.6, 0.01% sodium azide.
Synthetic peptide sequence RSTLQHPDYLQEYST from the cytoplasmic domain of the protein, residues 1250-1264. Cellular Localization: Isoform 1: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Species sequence homology: mouse.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-Erbb4 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-Erbb4 antibody
erbB4/HER4 is the fourth member of the human epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family that is frequently overexpressed in a variety of aggressive epithelial carcinomas. Its extracellular domain is most similar to the orphan receptor HER3, whereas its cytoplasmic kinase domain exhibits 79% and 77% identity with EGFR and HER2, respectively. HER4 is most predominantly expressed in several breast carcinoma cell lines, and in normal skeletal muscle, heart, pituitary, brain and cerebellum.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-Erbb4 antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Application Notes for anti-Erbb4 antibody
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 detects erbB-4 on 10ug of A431 lysates.

HER4: a receptor tyrosine kinase of the EGFR family. Specifically binds and is activated by neuregulins, NRG- 2, NRG-3, heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor, betacellulin and NTAK. Heterodimerizes and signals with other EGF receptors. Interaction with these factors induces cell differentiation. Not activated by EGF, TGF-A, and amphiregulin. Interacts with PDZ domains of DLG2, DLG3, DLG4 and the syntrophin SNTB2. Interacts with WWOX. May act as a tumor suppressor: overexpressed in head and neck cancer , but downregulated in renal cancer, papillary carcinoma, high-grade gliomas and invasive breast cancer. 3 alternatively-spliced isoforms of the human protein have been reported.
