Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-EF1, alpha antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-EF1, alpha antibody
Human eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha has two isoforms, alpha 1 and alpha 2. The alpha 1 isoform gene encodes a subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex which is responsible for the enzymatic delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. The alpha 1 isoform is expressed in brain, placenta, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas. The other isoform (alpha 2) is expressed in brain, heart and skeletal muscle. The alpha 1 isoform is identified as an autoantigen in 66% of patients with Felty syndrome. The gene for the alpha 1 isoform has been found to have multiple copies on many chromosomes, some of which, if not all, represent different pseudogenes. The gene for the alpha 2 may be critical in the development of ovarian cancer.

Application Notes for anti-EF1, alpha antibody
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipiation.
Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml detects EF-1a in RIPA lysates from non-stimulated A431 cells. Cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose, and probed with E2212 (0.5ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) Gt xMo and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunoprecipitation: 4ug immunoprecipitated EF-1 a from an A431 RIPA cell lysate.
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
