MBS107864 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Membrane Protein, Palmitoylated 2 (MPP2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing MPP2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS107864 kit is based on MPP2 antibody-MPP2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MPP2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MPP2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for MPP2
Palmitoylated membrane protein 2 is a member of a family of membrane-associated proteins termed MAGUKs (membrane-associated guanylate kinase homologs). MAGUKs interact with the cytoskeleton and regulate cell proliferation, signaling pathways, and intracellular junctions. Palmitoylated membrane protein 2 contains a conserved sequence, called the SH3 (src homology 3) motif, found in several other proteins that associate with the cytoskeleton and are suspected to play important roles in signal transduction. UniProt Comments for MPP2
MPP2: a protein of the MAGUK family. Contains one guanylate kinase-like domain, one SH3 domain, one PDZ domain, and two L27 domains. L27 domains are foun CASK in receptor targeting proteins including Lin-2, -4, -5, -6 and -7C, as well as the protein kinases. Three isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q12-q21

Cellular Component: membrane; integral to plasma membrane

Molecular Function: guanylate kinase activity; PDZ domain binding

Biological Process: signal transduction; nucleotide phosphorylation
