MBS9320293 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the programmed cell death 4 (neoplastic transformation inhibitor) (PDCD4) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PDCD4. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9320293 kit is based on PDCD4 antibody-PDCD4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PDCD4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PDCD4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

acts as an inhibitor of apoptosis; has similarity to eukaryotic translation initiation factor (eIF)4G [RGD, Feb 2006]
UniProt Comments for PDCD4
PDCD4: protein localized to the nucleus in proliferating cells that seems to possess a tumor suppressor activity. Directly interacts with the RNA helicase eIF4A and inhibits protein synthesis by interfering with the assembly of the cap-dependent translation initiation complex. Suppresses carbonic anhydrase type II protein expression in carcinoid cell lines. Since tumor cells require a high bicarbonate flux for their growth, carbonic anhydrase suppression results in growth inhibition. Expression of this gene is modulated by cytokines in natural killer and T cells. The gene product is thought to play a role in apoptosis but the specific role has not yet been determined. Two differentially spliced isoforms have been identified.

Protein type: Tumor suppressor; Apoptosis

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: RNA binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of JNK activity; apoptosis; regulation of protein metabolic process; cell aging; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of apoptosis
