The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PDE1C. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS071901 kit is based on PDE1C antibody-PDE1C antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PDE1C antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PDE1C. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases (PDEs) catalyze hydrolysis of the cyclic nucleotides cAMP and cGMP to the corresponding nucleoside 5-prime-monophosphates. Mammalian PDEs have been classified into several families based on their biochemical properties. Members of the PDE1 family, such as PDE1C, are calmodulin (see MIM 114180)-dependent PDEs (CaM-PDEs) that are stimulated by a calcium-calmodulin complex (Repaske et al., 1992 [PubMed 1326532]).[supplied by OMIM, Oct 2009]
