May be stored at 4 degree C for short term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

The Na + channel protein mediates the voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability of excitable membranes by forming a sodium-selective channel through which Na + ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. The Na + channel protein contains four internal repeats, each with five hydrophobic segments (S1, S2, S3, S5, S6) and one positively charged segment (S4). The S4 segments are probably the voltage-sensors and are characterized by a series of positively charged amino acids at every third position.

Application Notes for anti-SCNN1A antibody
Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml detected Sodium Channel (III-IV) Linker Region) in Rat brain microsomal tissue extract. 40ug rat brain microsomal tissue extract was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with MBS610104 (2ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) goat anti-rabbit and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Note: Do not boil tissue extracts, but instead heat to 37 degree C for 15-30 minutes prior to loading the gel.
immunoprecipitation: 1-4ug immunoprecipitated Sodium Channel (III-IV Linker Region) from 400ug of Rat Brain Microsomal Tissue extract.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Mouse sciatic nerves stained with MBS610104 at 20ug/ml.

Nonvoltage-gated, amiloride-sensitive, sodium channels control fluid and electrolyte transport across epithelia in many organs. These channels are heteromeric complexes consisting of 3 subunits: alpha, beta, and gamma. This gene encodes the alpha subunit, and mutations in this gene have been associated with pseudohypoaldosteronism type 1 (PHA1), a rare salt wasting disease resulting from target organ unresponsiveness to mineralocorticoids. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Mediates the electrodiffusion of the luminal sodium (and water, which follows osmotically) through the apical membrane of epithelial cells. Controls the reabsorption of sodium in kidney, colon, lung and sweat glands. Also plays a role in taste perception. Probable heterotrimer containing one alpha, one beta and one gamma subunit.
