Immunogen
Human SSB antigen from human plasma.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-SSB antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for SSB
SSB: a nuclear protein that plays a role in the transcription of RNA polymerase III. It is most probably a transcription termination factor. Binds to the 3' termini of virtually all nascent polymerase III transcripts. It is associated with precursor forms of RNA polymerase III transcripts including tRNA and 4.5S, 5s, 7s, and 7-2 RNAs.

Protein type: Transcription initiation complex

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q31.1

Cellular Component: ribonucleoprotein complex; nucleus

Molecular Function: mRNA binding; protein binding; nucleotide binding; tRNA binding

Biological Process: RNA processing; histone mRNA metabolic process; tRNA modification
