Application Notes for anti-VIL2 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 16000.

Western Blot: Approx 80kDa band observed in Human Placenta Lysates.(calculated MW of 69.4kDa according to NP_003370.2). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Zhu et al, Am J Physiol Cell Physiol.2005 Jun;288(6): C1242-54.; PMID: 15788482). Recommended concentration: 1-3ug/ml.

Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Small Intestine shows strong staining of enterocytes.
Recommended concentration, 3-5ug/ml.Paraffin embedded Human Kidney.
Recommended concentration: 3.75 mg/mL

Western Blot (WB) of anti-VIL2 antibody
(1ug/ml) staining of Human Placenta lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.

The cytoplasmic peripheral membrane protein encoded by this gene functions as a protein-tyrosine kinase substrate in microvilli. As a member of the ERM protein family, this protein serves as an intermediate between the plasma membrane and the actin cytoskeleton. This protein plays a key role in cell surface structure adhesion, migration and organization, and it has been implicated in various human cancers. A pseudogene located on chromosome 3 has been identified for this gene. Alternatively spliced variants have also been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
