Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-ABHD4 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-ABHD4 antibody
Peptide ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-ABHD4 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 16000.
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 48kDa band in Human Brain (Cerebellum, Cerebellar Cortex, Frontal Cortex) lysates and in Mouse Brain lysates after 0.5ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 38.8kDa according to NP_071343.2. The 48kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

UniProt Comments for ABHD4
ABHD4: Lysophospholipase selective for N-acyl phosphatidylethanolamine (NAPE). Contributes to the biosynthesis of N-acyl ethanolamines, including the endocannabinoid anandamide by hydrolyzing the sn-1 and sn-2 acyl chains from N-acyl phosphatidylethanolamine (NAPE) generating glycerophospho-N-acyl ethanolamine (GP-NAE), an intermediate for N-acyl ethanolamine biosynthesis. Hydrolyzes substrates bearing saturated, monounsaturated, polyunsaturated N-acyl chains. Shows no significant activity towards other lysophospholipids, including lysophosphatidylcholine, lysophosphatidylethanolamine and lysophosphatidylserine. Belongs to the peptidase S33 family. ABHD4/ABHD5 subfamily.

Protein type: EC 3.1.1.-; Hydrolase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q11.2

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum membrane; lipid particle

Molecular Function: hydrolase activity

Biological Process: lipid catabolic process; lipid metabolic process; phospholipid metabolic process; sequestering of lipid
