Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized antibody is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C. The reconstituted antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-8 degree C. Frozen aliquots are stable for at least 6 months when stored at -20 degree C. Avoid Repeated Freeze and Thaw Cycle!

CX3CL1, also known as Fractalkine, is a type I membrane protein in which a chemokine domain possessing a unique CX3C cysteine motif is tethered on a long mucin-like stalk. It can also be released as a soluble molecule upon proteolysis at a membrane proximal site.

Application Notes for anti-CX3CL1 antibody
Western Blot: To detect human Fractalkine by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant human Fractalkine is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

ELISA: To detect human Fractalkine by direct ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of at least 0.5 ug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant human Fractalkine.

Function: The soluble form is chemotactic for T-cells and monocytes, but not for neutrophils. The membrane-bound form promotes adhesion of those leukocytes to endothelial cells. May play a role in regulating leukocyte adhesion and migration processes at the endothelium. Binds to CX3CR1. Ref.8

Subunit structure: Monomer. Interacts with pox virus crmD; this inhibits cell migration mediated by CX3CL1. Ref.6 Ref.8

Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Processed fractalkine: Secreted.
