Research Use Only
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Immunogen Sequence Length
Species Reactivity
The antibody recognizes TCR alpha in human sample, and to a lesser extent to mouse and rat samples. Jurkat cell lysate can be used as a positive control. Blocking peptide (Cat.# MBS843863) is available separately.
Affinity purified
100 ug (0.2 mg/ml) immunoaffinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.01% thimerosal.
Appearance: Colorless liquid
0.2 mg/ml (lot specific)
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 138 of human TCRalpha (ID#BV-417)
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree c. For long term storage, aliquot and freeze at -70 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-TCR alpha antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-TCR alpha antibody
Background: TCR (T cell antigen receptor) recognizes foreign antigens and translates such recognition events into intracellular signals that elicit a change in the cell from a dormant to an activated state. TCR is a heterodimer composed of either alpha and beta or gamma and delta chains. The vast majority of circulating T cells (95%) express the alpha/beta heterodimer while romughly 2-5% express the gamma/delta heterodimer. CD3 chains and the CD4 or CD8 coreceptors are also required for efficient signal transduction thromugh the TCR.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-TCR alpha antibody
Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes for anti-TCR alpha antibody
Western blotting (0.5-4 ug/ml). Based on researcher's feedback, it can also be used in immunoprecipitation (10-20 ug/ml); and Immunohistochemistry (15-25 ug/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually.
