Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 degree C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-BRWD1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for BRWD1
This gene encodes a member of the WD repeat protein family. WD repeats are minimally conserved regions of approximately 40 amino acids typically bracketed by gly-his and trp-asp (GH-WD), which may facilitate formation of heterotrimeric or multiprotein complexes. Members of this family are involved in a variety of cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, signal transduction, apoptosis, and gene regulation. This protein contains 2 bromodomains and multiple WD repeats, and the function of this protein is not known. This gene is located within the Down syndrome region-2 on chromosome 21. Alternative splicing of this gene generates 3 transcript variants diverging at the 3' ends. [provided by RefSeq]
UniProt Comments for BRWD1
WDR9: an ubiquitously expressed WD40 repeat protein that may be a transcriptional activator and be involved in chromatin remodeling. Interacts with SMARCA4. WD40 repeats are found in a number of eukaryotic proteins that coordinate multi-protein complex assemblies. WD40 proteins are implicated in many functions including adaptor/regulatory modules in signal transduction, pre-mRNA processing and cytoskeleton assembly. Three alternatively spliced human isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 21q22.2

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleolus; nucleus

Biological Process: regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of cell shape; transcription, DNA-dependent; cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis
