anti-GIPR antibody
Function: This is a receptor for GIP. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase.
Subunit Structure: May form homodimers and heterodimers with GLP1R.
Post-translational Modifications: N-glycosylation is required for cell surface expression and lengthens receptor half-life by preventing degradation in the ER.
Similarity: Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-GIPR antibody

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-GIPR antibody
MBS9606628 at 1/100 staining Mouse intestine tissue by IHC-P. The sample was formaldehyde fixed and a heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citrate buffer was performed. The sample was then blocked and incubated with the antibody for 1.5 hours at 22 degree C. An HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit antibody was used as the secondary.

Immunofluorescence (IF) of anti-GIPR antibody
MBS9606628 staining A549 by IF/ICC. The sample were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25 degree C. The primary antibody was diluted at 1/200 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 37 degree C. An Alexa Fluor 594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) Ab, diluted at 1/600, was used as the secondary antibody.

NCBI Summary for GIPR
This gene encodes a G-protein coupled receptor for gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP), which was originally identified as an activity in gut extracts that inhibited gastric acid secretion and gastrin release, but subsequently was demonstrated to stimulate insulin release in the presence of elevated glucose. Mice lacking this gene exhibit higher blood glucose levels with impaired initial insulin response after oral glucose load. Defect in this gene thus may contribute to the pathogenesis of diabetes. UniProt Comments for GIPR
This is a receptor for GIP. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase.
