Application Notes for anti-ABCC4 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000.
Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Prostate shows strong cytoplasmic staining in small flat basal cells and weak cytoplasmic staining in the columnar secretory cells of the epithelium. Recommended concentration, 2-4ug/ml.
Western Blot: Approx 170kDa band observed in rat renal cortex membranes (calculated MW of 149kDa according to Rat NP_596902.1 and 150kDa according to Human NP_005836.2). Data obtained from a previous batch and kindly provided by Dr. Antje Steinbach, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald, Germany. Recommended concentration: 1-3ug/ml.
Immunocytochemsitry/Immunofluorescence: This antibody (from a previous batch) has been successfully used in ICC/IF for human primary hepatocytes as described in the following paper: Xu et al, Am J Physiol Gastrointest Liver Physiol. 2010 Jul;299(1):G126-35, PMID: 20395535.

NCBI Summary for ABCC4
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the MRP subfamily which is involved in multi-drug resistance. This family member plays a role in cellular detoxification as a pump for its substrate, organic anions. It may also function in prostaglandin-mediated cAMP signaling in ciliogenesis. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]
