Application Notes for anti-ARRB2 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000.
Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Cerebellum shows mainly nuclear staining of purkinje cells and neuronal cells in the Molecular Layer. Recommended concentration, 4-6ug/ml.
Western Blot: Approx 40kDa band observed in Human Brain lysates (calculated MW of 46.1kDa according to NP_004304.1 and 44.4 according to NP_945355.1). Recommended concentration: 0.3-1ug/ml. An anonymous customer found positive results in WB on Rat aortic smooth muscle. An anonymous customer found positive results in WB on Mouse smooth muscle. An anonymous customer found positive results in WB on Mouse aortic smooth muscle. An anonymous customer found positive results in WB on Human colon adenocarcinoma cells (SW480).
Immunoprecipitation: This antibody has been successfully used in IP from rat leukocytes as described in the following paper: Zakrzewicz et al, Immunobiology.2011 Jul;216(7): 854-61; PMID: 21193245.

Members of arrestin/beta-arrestin protein family are thought to participate in agonist-mediated desensitization of G-protein-coupled receptors and cause specific dampening of cellular responses to stimuli such as hormones, neurotransmitters, or sensory signals. Arrestin beta 2, like arrestin beta 1, was shown to inhibit beta-adrenergic receptor function in vitro. It is expressed at high levels in the central nervous system and may play a role in the regulation of synaptic receptors. Besides the brain, a cDNA for arrestin beta 2 was isolated from thyroid gland, and thus it may also be involved in hormone-specific desensitization of TSH receptors. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]
